Most people seem to enjoy the summer. It’s the time where students finish classes and are off for breaks. And it’s usually the time when many people take a vacation. However, the current crisis has made it a little harder to travel freely and continue the status quo. So, I decided to create a list of some of the best things to do this summer.

1. Plan A Mini Staycation

If there are public areas open where you live, try going to your local park and having a picnic with everyone in your house. And if you are feeling a little adventurous, you can even go camping out in your yard or park. Just make sure to stay safe by social distancing, wearing a mask, and washing your hands frequently (or using hand sanitizer).

However, if you want to plan a staycation from inside your home, try visiting different areas with VR software. With this virtual set, anything is possible! You can visit different cities, museums, beaches, and more.

2. Host A Gaming Tournament

If you’re scrambling trying to think of activities for the summer, you could try starting a gaming tournament with your family and friends. Try hosting different matches until you get down to the final two. And make sure that you have a prize for the winner!

3. Continue Your Education

Another thing to do this summer is to continue your education. You can take classes to help you further your education or just take a class to learn more about something that you’re interested in.

4. Earn Certifications

Having certifications can make your resume stand out to hiring companies. If you want to learn how to gain free certifications, check out this post here.

5. Learn A New Skill

Need to add something to your summer bucket list? Try learning a new skill. This can range from learning a new language to how to dance. Just pick an undiscovered passion of yours and go with it!

6. Start A Side Hustle

If you have enough time on your hands, try having a side hustle. You’ll learn how to be more autonomous, while also earning money.

Some examples of some side hustles that you can start are:

  • Starting a YouTube channel
  • Creating Counseling Services
  • Offering Remote Bookkeeping Services
  • Providing Graphic Design Services

Another thing that you can do this summer is redecoration. Get your designer skills going and revamp your bedroom, kitchen, or even your entire house.

8. Apply For An Internship

If you need to build up your resume, or just want to understand what a particular career entails, try applying for an internship. And if you’re concerned about social distancing, don’t worry. There are plenty of remote internships available also.

9. Get In Shape

Most people would be working to keep their summer or beach body ready. However, since traveling is highly discouraged, I’m pretty sure that many have abandoned the idea. But I would suggest that you try a fitness challenge regardless and get in shape so that you will stay healthy.

Hopefully, you enjoyed learning about the different things that you can do this summer at home!

Happy Days!
