You probably are enrolled in some type of streaming service (yeah, you know the one that you pay around ten bucks a month for). And you probably really enjoy watching the shows on there too, but at some point you’ve probably wondered, “Are there any streaming services that are free?” And the answer to that is yes! Free streaming services definitely exist.
So, if you want to know about some of the best streaming services that you can use, keep on reading.
List of Free Streaming Services
Tubi TV
One of my favorite sites where I watch free movies and tv shows is Tubi TV. And, personally, I think that it’s a streaming service similar to Netflix. The only main difference is that it has ads (all of the other free streaming services have them too).
There are multiple genres that you can choose from. Also, if you have children, or just want to watch a childhood show for nostalgia’s sake, they have Tubi Kids. You can watch free anime shows like Cowboy Bebop and Naruto too. So, there’s something for everyone to watch!
IMDb TV
IMDb TV is another website that you can watch tv shows for free. All you need to do is sign up for an account, and you’re ready to go. However, some of the videos available to watch are a little dated. So, you might be limited on what you can watch.
VUDU
VUDU is another movie streaming site that you can use when your trying to save money. However, it differs from most of the websites on this list because it also is a streaming website where you can rent movies.
Despite this, the company does well at separating premium tv shows and movies from their free content, which makes it easier for you to watch your free movie.
Peacock
Another video streaming service that is similar to Netflix is Peacock. One similarity that they have is that they both have a subscription service for users. On the other hand, Peacock has a free subscription plan, so anyone can stream free movies and shows! But the downside of the free plan is that the content that you view will have a limitation (Ex: users can only watch a limited amount of episodes in a series).
Another similarity between the two video streaming sites their original shows. So, just like Netflix have their own shows, so does Peacock. Some shows that Peacock Original has are Punky Brewster, A.P. Bio, and Saved by the Bell.
Crackle
This streaming service has a similar set up to Tubi TV and has free movies and tv shows that you can watch. They also have a selection of films that you can watch together with your family!
Pluto
If you need a streaming service on a budget, try Pluto! Not only does the company have a selection of free movies and shows for you to watch at your leisure, but they also have channels. Yes, you read this right, channels.
And the best thing about it is that you can see the timeline of every channel (it looks quite similar to the tv guide channel that used to be on TV or the channel selection menu on a DVR).
Some examples of the channels that you can watch are:
- Classic TV Comedy
- Pluto TV Reality
- Travel
- Nick (and Nick Jr.)
- Comedy Central Pluto TV
- Live TV
Popcornflix
Another free streaming service where you can watch movies is Popcornflix. The great thing about this site is that they also have a YouTube channel. So, you can watch free movies there too.
Plex
Plex is another free tv streaming site that belongs on this list. The website offers free live tv, movies, and shows.
You can also sign up for a Plex Pass for $4.99/month which will let you enjoy perks such as listening to audio offline, watching movies in HD quality, recording live TV, skip show intros, and download videos to watch for later.
Youtube Movies
When you first think of free streaming services, you might not instantly think of Youtube. But you can watch free movies there too. The only downside is that the movies are not categorized. So, it might take you some time to sort through everything.
Bonus: Amazon Video
You can also find some free movies to watch here too. You just need some patience, time, and an open mind.
I hope that you enjoyed learning about how to get streaming services for free. Which service would you go with?
